Scott McWilliam, founder of Muscular System Solutions and co-founder of Lateral Fitness, has been involved in the fitness industry since 2004. As a exercise professional Scott has an array of tools to improve muscular contraction.

Through his years of dealing with clients who have sought him out with specific muscular issues, he has realized the importance of being able to have the same range of motion and muscular output between the left and right side.  If there is a large gap between individual joint range of motion (ROM) and individual joint muscular output, but as well as a large discrepancy between the two sides, the end result could range from specific sensations of tightness, injury, pain, and decreased joint performance.

Scott's primarily goal is to First, draw out the joint system(s) that are the main cause of the issue.  Second improve the muscular system by "jump-starting" inefficient muscles, by allowing them to contract shorten properly, which in-turn will indirectly improve joint range of motion, by improving the individual muscles that control the individual joint.  Third build the output, through exercise, so both sides are able to produce the same output, which leaves the body more able to tolerate the demands put on the body better.

Cyndi Burman’s passion for working with the human muscular system derives from the benefits she experienced in her own body when she first received Greg Roskopf’s Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT™) as a client. She fortuitously learned of MAT at a time when she was experiencing pain, numbness and tingling for which her healthcare provider was unable to offer an “illness-based” solution.  That initial interaction with MAT gave her the symptomatic relief she sought but it was her delight in the unexpected results ~ strength, control and body awareness ~ that fueled her desire to share the experience with others and propelled her enrollment in the MAT specialist program in 2008.  As Cyndi learns more about the human musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems as well as about the power of MAT and strategic exercise to increase the body’s ability to tolerate the forces of exercise and daily activities, her enthusiasm for sharing her knowledge and skills to improve the lives of others intensifies..

Cyndi has continued her study of human movement through formal advanced MAT™ and MATRx™ coursework, Resistance Training Specialist (RTS) classes and a Client Intake assessment program as well as independent research, collaborative study and practical application.   She brings the same logical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail to her MAT practice that she developed and used to serve her clients in her prior life as a corporate attorney.
